#FDB❤CARES

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Frederick Douglass Boulevard Alliance launched a new initiative #FDB❤CARES, which provided delicious meals from restaurants on Harlem's Restaurant Row for those who were on the frontlines responding to this crisis in our beloved community. This initiative was a way to show support for our local eateries and their staff during an extremely difficult time for small businesses.

Clean Streets

FDBA in partnership with the Association of Community Employment Programs for the Homeless (ACE) through a grant from former NYC Council Members Bill Perkins and Inez E. Dickens launched a clean streets initiative to provide much needed street cleaning services for residents and small businesses along Frederick Douglass Boulevard, Harlem’s Gateway and Restaurant Row from West 110th –West 124th Streets.

This initiative also supports job training and work opportunities for participants from the ACE Program based in New York City. FDBA will pursue additional public/private funding in order to make this initiative and partnership with ACE and its participants permanent.

Historic Street Lamps Project

FDBA through capital through grants received by the Manhattan Borough President’s Office  and in partnership with the NYC Department of Transportation have completed the first phase of an ambitious project to replace existing lighting with historic street lamps. Our goal is to secure funding for the additional phases of this project.
